The church, built in 1639-56, stands in a commanding position overlooking the village and is built on a longitudinal plan. It is one of the very few Baroque churches in Grisons where the outside (with graffiti decorations and ashlar cornerstones) has remained almost intact. Inside there are some unusual illusionistic murals and drapes dating from 1670-80, a 17th-century statue of the Black Madonna of Loreto and a fine processional banner from 1611, painted on both sides, which was a gift by those who emigrated from Lostallo to Rome.
