Nesso - Orrido di Nesso (Natural gorge)

The picturesque gorge, at the outlet of the Tuf and Nosè valleys, is fed by the mountain streams of the same names which meet here in a deafening, spectacular foaming mass, plunging between the bare rocks eroded by the water’s natural fury to become a beautiful waterfall that gushes into a gorge and on to the nearby lake. The waterfall is visible from the lay-by on the provincial road or from the small Roman footbridge accessible via the steps (there are more than 340 of them) that lead to the lake running along the sides of the houses. It is a spectacular sight, especially in spring or after a period of heavy rainfall, when the Tuf and Nosè rivers are swollen.
