Parco Adda Nord

Parco Adda Nord

The park includes the coastal territories of the Adda River, along the stretch that crosses the high valley, downstream of Como Lake, including the lakes of Garlate and Olginate. In this stretch, the river winds its way between sunken banks, with typical “stump” outcrops, and forms a characteristic landscape that alternates between densely wooded and more man-made areas. The most interesting area from a naturalistic point of view is the large wetland of the Brivio marsh. The archaeological and monumental aspects are particularly relevant, with hydraulic engineering works from the beginning of the century such as the Leonardo locks (Trezzo sull’Adda), the Paderno Bridge and the workers’ village of Crespi d’Adda.
