The church stands alone in the main square; according to an inscription from 1750 it was extended in 1151 and consecrated in 1431. Some frescoes in the nave, thought to date from the 14th century, were brought to light during restoration work in 1964-67. The unusual arcosolium and the single nave with apse are in the Romanesque style, probably from the 11th century, although some parts of the building are thought to be even older. The frescoes in the apse, thought to date from the 1500s, are of particular interest.
